About the project
The Czech Mint mints not only all circulation coins, but also all Czech commemorative coins and a number of its own commemorative, investment and gift products made of precious metals. Their relief hides many emotions and thousands of years of love for the craft.
Main challenges
Historically, the Czech Mint has not used recommendation areas on its website. There was a fear that they might distract users from the direct purchase journey and overall reduce, for example, the average order value.
The aim was therefore to sensitively AB-test a variant of the website with and without recommendation areas. On the variant of the site with recommendation areas Zoe.ai, the desired effect was rather an upsell from the perspective of a more or less "decided" customer. Undecided customers, on the other hand, needed to be well guided according to their behavioural and device data after arriving at the Homepage by the easiest way to a product of interest to them. The different recommendation logic on Homepage and Product Detail was adapted to this.
Solution
After the implementation of Zoe.ai recommendation surfaces in the form of widgets, the AB test was launched, lasting 3 months. As a result of the AB test, the total sales of the website variant with Zoe.ai recommendation areas increased by 5.5% with a statistical certainty of 99%.
At the same time, the average order value increased by 4.8%. Thus, both desired effects were achieved thanks to Zoe Deep Recommendations, and subsequently the recommendations were successfully extended to 100% traffic and to the SK site.
